Makoop Lake Lodge is situated approximately 230 miles NNW of Sioux Lookout, Ontario, Canada. It is located beyond the end of the road, and the only way to reach it is by float plane or over the dangerous ice road during winter, which is used to deliver staple supplies for the next season. The remote fishing camp was built 14 years ago on Makoop Lake, which is a vast body of water covering 28,000 acres and is mostly unexplored. There are no other camps on the lake. The lake provides an ideal habitat for trophy northern pike, also known as Esox Lucius or the Water Wolf of Makoop, along with a vast population of hungry walleye. The lake is relatively shallow with hundreds of rocky points and islands, making it a paradise for fishing and easy to navigate. It is the perfect place to catch big fish!
