At the rear of the Kenora Recreation Centre there is daytime and overnight parking along with oversized vehicle parking (including trailers) and access to a boat launch on Laurenson's Creek which feeds in Lake of the Woods immediately after the bridge. This boat launch is also across from our local Safeway grocery store.

On Lake of the Woods, turn off Hwy 17 West on to Main Street, then right on to Beach Road. Beach includes picnic shelter, play structure, washrooms and docks for drop offs only. 

Thistle Pavillion

Located in Kenora's Winkler Harbourfront Park and neighbouring the Whitecap Pavilion, this information centre is open during the summer months offering local tourism services. Additionally the MS Kenora sells ticket out of the Thistle Pavilion 

Mt. Evergreen Ski & Recreation Area

Volunteer run Ski Hill & chalet; family oriented place to take part in activities that have the potential for lifelong enjoyment and healthy living. Mount evergreen offers downhill skiing, snowboarding, tubing and cross country skiing.

Rotary Splash Park

As of 2019, the Rotary Splash Park opened at Norman Park with lake themed water attractions for all ages, including; giant cattails, arches that spray water and a giant water bucket that fills until it’s tipping point and soaks those underneath it. 

Bass Lake Provincial Park

  • Approx 10 minute drive west of Orillia, Ontario
  • 2.8 km hiking trail
  • RV, car camping, group camping, picnic shelters, roofed accommodations and a day use area
  • Canoe, kayaks and Park Store
  • Sandy beach on Bass Lake is great for swimming
  • 4 km trail network and all Park Roads are available in winter for snowshoeing, cross country skiing, hiking or (on leash) dog walking
  • Gas stations, groceries, convenience stores, restaurants, shopping and movie theatres within a five minute drive
  • Attractions within 30 minutes: Springwa

Caliper Lake Provincial Park

Caliper Lake Provincial Park

This quiet campground, just south of Nestor Falls features an impressive stand of old growth Red and White Pine trees.  This makes for some very secluded campsites.  The dedicated angler might catch Northern Pike, Crappie, Walleye, or small mouth bass. There is a large beach and buoyes swimming area which provides family fun. On occasion, a lucky individual might see American White Pelicans which sometimes make Caliper Lake their home.

Norman Park is located just off Lakeview Drive with the Railroaders' Museum closest to the road and park, beach and playground closer to the lake. Sioux Narrows Provincial Park

Sioux Narrows Provincial Park is a small park with a great beach located directly on Lake of the Woods. This park offers extraordinary recreational opportunities for the lake lover including boating, swimming, sailing and canoeing.
