The tugboat James McMillan now sits in drydock, testament to the site’s early history in the lumbering history of the area.

Coney Island Beach is located on Coney Island in Kenora city limits; complete with a concession, picnic shelter, jungle gym, large field and beautiful sandy beach with lots of docking.

The Coney Island Music Festival takes place the last Sunday in July! You must boat to the beach or take a shuttle to Coney.

As of 2019, the Rotary Splash Park opened at Norman Park with lake themed water attractions for all ages, including; giant cattails, arches that spray water and a giant water bucket that fills until it’s tipping point and soaks those underneath it.

This quiet campground, just south of Nestor Falls features an impressive stand of old growth Red and White Pine trees.  This makes for some very secluded campsites.  The dedicated angler might catch Northern Pike, Crappie, Walleye, or small mouth bass. There is a large beach and buoyes swimming area which provides family fun. On occasion, a lucky individual might see American White Pelicans which sometimes make Caliper Lake their home. 

Norman Park is located just off Lakeview Drive with the Railroaders' Museum closest to the road and park, beach and playground closer to the lake. Sioux Narrows Provincial Park is a small park with a great beach located directly on Lake of the Woods. This park offers extraordinary recreational opportunities for the lake lover including boating, swimming, sailing and canoeing. 

Located withing walking distance of Little Falls Golf Course and picturesque Little Falls waterfall, Bunnell Park offers convenient camping for tents and trailers.

The Vernon Nature Area is a unique area that links three very diverse vegetation zones found within Canada. These designated trails will acquaint you with the transition zone between the Boreal Forest Region, the St. Lawrence-Great Lake Forest Region and the Prairie Grasslands.

Stunning views of the Winnipeg River and Norman Dam can be seen along the series of trails that make up Tunnel Island. Please respect the heritage value of this sacred site, while enjoying the land. This is a dog-friendly off-leash trail.
