Although we’re probably most famous for that giant Goose monument hovering over the Trans Canada Highway…if you haven't stop there, you’ve really missed out on some of the best stories and places beyond that famous Goose. The Township of Macdonald, Meredith and Aberdeen Additional is home to the Loon Dollar Monument. The monument is located on Highway 17B in the Village of Echo Bay. The structure was constructed and dedicated in 1992 to Mr. Robert R. Carmichael, the artist responsible for the creation of the Loon Dollar design who was a resident of the Township. 

The famous Wawa goose is one of Canada's most iconic roadside attractions. The giant goose has been upgraded over the years and the current version stands tall, entertaining visitors from all over the world. Stop in the visitor's centre for information on Wawa and the Algoma region and to stock up on souvenirs.
