A quiet, friendly, family oriented Seasonal only campground located on the shores of a spring-fed lake only five km from the Trans Canada Highway. Our setting has much to offer to all outdoor enthusiasts. A great place for your summer getaway.
Visit the beautiful Dawson Trail Campground in Quetico Park located on French Lake. The Chippewa and Ojibwa camping areas have over 100 campsites and 3 rustic cabins. There are laundry facilities, showers, comfort stations and parking facilities. There is a beautiful beach as well as many hiking trails. There is approximately 30 kms of groomed hiking, skiing or snowshoe trails to use in the winter at Dawson Trail.
Pukaskwa National Park is located 26 km (16 miles) south of Marathon. This National Park is known for its stunning views of Lake Superior, extensive hiking trails, beautiful granite shores, and sandy beaches. The park also offers car campers solitude and privacy at the Hattie Cove Campground. Home to the 60 km (37 mile) Coastal Hiking Trail, take a day hike to the White River Suspension Bridge. Or visit the Anishinaabe Camp to experience local Indigenous culture at the heart of Pukaskwa.
Providence Bay Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Northeastern Ontario. It is located on the southern shore of Manitoulin Island and offers visitors not only gorgeous views of Lake Huron, but also a wheelchair-accessible boardwalk trail and playground. There's also an accessible gift shop, restuarant, and washrooms right off the parking lot at Providence Bay Beach.
Located on Highway 580 just East of the Community of Beardmore, this municipal park offers visitors 125 campsites, 45 of which offer electrical and water hook-ups a wealth of recreational opportunities including swimming, hiking, boating and fishing, as well as some of the most stunning scenery the Greenstone region has to offer. Just 5 kilometers from the Park is High Hill Harbour, a docking and service station for commercial and pleasure crafts including fueling and pump out facilities.
The lake's shallow waters warm quickly in summer offering a swimming alternative to the persistently cold Lake Superior. The sand/gravel matrix of the shoreline, coupled with the past practice of importing sand, created a series of beaches and swimming areas.
All our cabins have strong cell service and free Wi-Fi is available at and around the library.
This year will be the first year for a community fire pit. We are very excited to bring a contained and safe space to have a campfire.
