Climb the 142 metres (465 feet) to the observation deck for an incredible view of the Lake of Bays. There are also picnic sites, restrooms, a tourist information kiosk, a gift shop, and a hiking trail.
The 4th point of interest on the Explorers Snow Tour is another lookout—an incredible one. This very spot was once a beach!
Like so many stops on this tour, it's pretty easy to get to. Redbridge Mountain is about 7 kilometres east of the Village of Redbridge on OFSC Trail #NB304. Bring your camera!
Point of Interest #2 on the Explorers Snow Tour is the Bird's Eye View. From up here, you can see how the glacier that went through here 10,000 or so years ago shaped the land. A must for anyone sledding in the area, you'll find it a few kilometres north of Mattawa on the A112A OFSC trail.

The Manitouwadge Superior Picnic table is located at the summit of Manitouwadge Lookout Trail, offering a panoramic view of the town. Directions: Off Highway 17, take the turnoff into Manitouwadge. Take the first right before entering Kiwissa Ski Hill. Parking is available near the telecommunications tower. The trail begins at the left of the tower. It’s a steep climb, with approximately a 15–20-minute hike to the summit.
Lloyd’s Lookout is located in Red Rock on the Nipigon River Recreation Trail. The lookout is found 0.8 miles (1.3 km) in from the Red Rock trailhead of the Nipigon River Recreation Trail. The viewing platform offers incredible views above the Nipigon River out to Lake Superior. A few minutes further into the trail there are a couple of Parks Canada Red Chairs to relax in and soak in the view.
Located 5.7 miles (9.3 km) from Rossport, Battle Island Lighthouse was established to guide boats coming in from Lake Superior through Simpson Channel, into Nipigon Bay. The original lighthouse, built in 1871, was replaced in 1911. The grounds are open to the public, but the tower is closed. It can be viewed by private boat, commercial charter, or by kayak/canoe.
The Bridgeview Lookout Tower is located in Nipigon in Ontario’s Superior Country. This scenic lookout tower if found directly after the entrance into the town of Nipigon at the west end of the Nipigon River Bridge.
