The Gore Bay Museum is housed within the Gore Bay court complex, having originally served as the Manitoulin District Jail and jailer's residence until 1945. This museum is unique in that it has preserved many of its original features, making it one of the few remaining Ontario jails to do so. Today, the museum showcases the fascinating history of the local early settlers.

The Centennial Museum of Sheguiandah is situated on Highway 6 in Sheguiandah, Ontario, on beautiful Manitoulin Island. Nestled behind a rail fence just south of Lewis Creek, our eight-acre site features a main exhibition area and six outbuildings. Our museum preserves an impressive collection of settler artifacts from the mid-1800’s onward that help tell the stories of our ancestors and local heritage.
