Surrounded by lakes, rivers, and trails, this is the place to be when you want to really be in the wilderness. A motorcycle-friendly stop for gas, food, and supplies, cabin rentals, campsites, ATV and hiking trails, snowmobile trails in the winter. There really is something for everyone.

The Birchville Motel is conveniently located on the Trans-Canada Highway, one hour east of Thunder Bay. The motel will provide you with a friendly and comfortable stay, whether you are just passing through or planning on a lengthy stay in Nipigon. There are a variety of rooms available for guests, some with kitchenettes.  All rooms have free Wi-Fi, TV's, small fridges, microwaves, phones and complimentary coffee, bottled water and ice.  The ever popular family room with two rooms is always in great demand so be sure to book early.

Birchland Cottages is nestled in a beautiful and peaceful private bay on Clear Lake just west of Iron Bridge, Ontario. We are roughly 1 hour and 15 minutes east of Sault Ste. Marie and 2 hours west of Sudbury off the Trans-Canada Highway.  Our cottages offer lakefront views with all the comforts of home—each fully furnished cottage includes appliances, running water, electricity, heat, satellite television, and modern bathrooms. Birchland Cottages provides a boat launch along with boat and motor rentals for your fishing or recreational pleasures.

Our Northern Ontario cottages are located in North-eastern Ontario, halfway between Sudbury and Sault Ste. Marie, just 12 kilometres (8 miles) north of the village of Blind River.

Big Water Campgrounds has grown from a small campsite to one with over three hundred (300) sites. Our expansion was needed to meet the continued demand for seasonal sites. Every year a few camping spots do open up. We do maintain a waitlist for those who are interested in becoming a seasonal lot holder. Each lot is supplied with a picnic table and fire pit. Well-maintained outdoor chemical toilets are strategically located throughout. Two beaches, 2 boat launch areas where family pets are welcome to cool off.

We are located approximately 1 hour east of Sault St. Marie. Big Basswood lake is a deep, crystal clear spring fed lake, with depths reaching 235'.  It is home to lake trout, whitefish, burbot, small mouth bass and other fish species which makes it a fantastic fishing hot spot.
