An added bonus is the food truck in the parking lot. Offering everything you'd expect at the food truck—fries, burgers, dogs, etc.—but the deep-fried pickles are a local favourite.

Before heading back to the cottages for a well-deserved rest from the sun and fun, head to Mills Grills for a delicious dinner out. Tracey and the team make a mean BLT! A quick stop into Cunningham's Store for some snacks would make for a perfect movie night. 

Foster Lake Park is known for its scenic view, sandy beach, cool waters and playground area. The shaded shelters with picnic tables make for the perfect post-swim, lunchtime spot. The outdoor privy's and change room are a bonus too! ;)

Head to Pinecone Forest for a hike and some peaceful time in a canoe. This piece of wilderness is situated along the York River, where you will embark on a guided canoe trip to Conroys Marsh, a provincially protected wetland brimming with breathtaking views and aquatic wildlife. Whether surrounded by towering pines or paddling a sparkling river, you will be in awe of Mother Nature's rugged beauty! 

Located on Madawaska River in Combermere, Bent Anchor serves up easy food on a massive patio with great music, cold beer, and in-house smoked chicken and pork.

Gear up for a trip to Kamaniskeg Lake, where history comes to life. Here you will learn the story of the legendary Mayflower, a ship that sank in these waters in November 1912.

Local's Tip: If scuba diving is a past time of yours, you can explore this lake via flippers to locate the sunken Mayflower at the bottom.
