There are twenty-two kettle lakes in the area that were formed by glaciers. These lakes are deep and are fed by springs. The forest in the area is mainly Jack Pine Boreal Forest. If you enjoy fishing, you'll be glad to know that many of the lakes are stocked with Rainbow and Brook Trout, making for excellent fishing. Additionally, there are fourteen kilometers of biking trails to explore. For families, there are also interpretive programs available.
The Kenora Golf and Country Club is a challenging 18-hole golf course located on the shores of the Lake of the Woods. It has a full service clubhouse, pro shop and restaurant.
