Covering an area of 460,000 ha, showcasing ample beauty to be seen everywhere you look and memorable experiences to discover. Northern Superior Brewing Co. has been part of the Sault Ste. Marie community and Algoma District for over a hundred years. For nearly 10 years, the stories brewery's doors were shut until a group of three local entrepreneurs with a great interest in keeping Sault Ste. Marie's history alive began with the development of the Northern Superior Brewing Company. The new company is dedicated to carefully working to craft the same taste and quality that Northern drinkers are accustomed to.
A 9-foot high bronze statue, set on a 45-ton granite base with a foundation of local amethyst, commands a breath-taking view of Lake Superior and the Sleeping Giant. The statue was erected in memory of Terry Fox, the courageous runner who after losing his leg to cancer embarked on the 'Marathon of Hope', a cross-country run in support cancer research. The site is not far from the spot where Terry was forced to end his run at 5,342 km (3,339mi) after his cancer had returned. Cancer took Terry's life on June 28, 1981.
Horseshoe Beach is in Pukaskwa National Park on the sandy shore of Lake Superior. A boardwalk from Hattie Cove Campground leads you to this secluded beach. Golden sand and glistening emerald waters greets you. It’s the ideal place for a picnic on some sun soaked driftwood or building a sand castle. The beach is surrounded by incredible and varied hiking opportunities that this National Park has to offer.

Located in a historic building, which once served as a Police Station and Court House, the Thunder Bay Museum offers visitors six galleries of local, regional and national heritage. Galleries include the first settlers, fur trade era, silver mining, shipping, and Thunder Bay through the centuries on the main floor, a rotating display on the 2nd floor, as well as military and music on the 3rd floor.
Local Pickle Ball courts located in Garrow Park. Pickleball is a racket sport that blends, tennis, badminton and ping pong. The dimensions of a Pickleball court equals approximately one badminton court or a 1/4 size of a tennis court. The sports equipment is a perforated whiffle ball, and a short wooden/composite paddle with a rectangular head.
Garrow Park is located on Birchwood Cresent off Rabbit Lake Road. It is home to Kenora Rowing Club, Garrow beach with accessible entry via Mobi Mat, docks, outdoor exercise stations, a picnic area, an accessible play structure, restrooms, pickleball courts and the Rabbit Lake Trail which is a paved accessible trail.
