The Lake of the Woods Museum was established in 1964 and tells the stories of the people who have made Kenora and Lake of the Woods their home from the beginning of time to today.  The museum features artifacts and stories related to the history of Kenora, the Lake of the Woods, and our many surrounding communities.  From pre-history to the town’s wild west beginnings, the Lake of the Woods Museum is sure to entertain and educate.  

The Lake of the Woods Discovery Centre has recently acquired various display components to enhance the delivery of its mandate to become not only a Travel Services Centre, but a Tourism destination in itself. The Lake of the Woods Discovery is home to one of six Science North Northern Nature Trading Hubs and THINK Hubs across northern Ontario.

Lady Evelyn-Smoothwater is located in the heart of the Temagami region and in the center of a 2400km interconnected canoeing network. The park protects some of Temagami’s famous old growth White and Red pine ecosystems and showcases the beautiful clear lakes and rushing rivers. Our campgrounds offer numerous activities such as swimming, fishing, bird watching, boat launching, and hiking.
