A vigorous resort community with a beautifully developed waterfront that includes a boat launch and park area as well as hiking and biking trails. Emo is a scenic stop on the "MOM's Way" (Manitoba-Ontario-Minnesota) route. Just north of Emo, off Highway 615 you'll find the Clearwater/Pipestone Chain of Lakes which is home to several fishing and hunting lodges.

Situated right next to one of Northern Ontario’s natural wonders is the town of Kakabeka Falls. Located right off the Highway in town, Kakabeka Falls Park has a full viewing deck where you can see the waterfalls of the Kaministiqua River drop over 90 feet into a gorge. You can stock up on food, bait and tackle and other supplies in town or stay overnight in a hotel/motel. There are many resorts in the area offering great fishing or hunting and many are perfect for a family vacation. If you're looking for a very secluded remote cabin, there are many outposts cabins to fly to from Sioux Lookout.

Minaki is a beautiful resort town with a number of quality resorts, lodges, and campgrounds. The mighty Winnipeg River and English River Systems, offer tremendous fishing for walleye, muskie, northern pike, and bass. Hunting opportunities are some of the best in Ontario with large populations of deer, black bear, and huge moose in the areas north of the town. Minaki also has great cross-country skiing and mountain bike trails as well as rock climbing.

The Municipality of Machin is made up of 3 communities all located on the beautiful Eagle Lake. Eagle River, Minnitaki and Vermilion Bay are all located in the heart of Sunset Country on the Trans Canada Highway. Vermilion Bay is located at the start of Highway 105, which leads to Ear Falls and Red Lake. The population is roughly 1200 people.

Just south of Ear Falls is Perrault Falls, featuring a breathtaking, long cascade of water between Perrault and Wabaskang Lakes. The Perrault Falls area is home to many resorts and lodges providing access to waters teeming with walleye, northern pike, muskie, and bass. Along with the lodges dotted along the way, you'll find a restaurant, store and gas station.

Ear Falls is a prime location to see Bald Eagles, as it is home to the largest returning nesting population of Bald Eagles in North America. A visit to Ear Falls from May to November promises many opportunities to see these majestic birds. Pakwash Provincial Park, just north of Ear Falls, has a beautiful 1.5 km sandy beach. Pakwash also has a campground, nature trails, and a concentration of Anishinabek rock paintings.
