This year, the theme of our powwow is Honouring Our Land and Water. This theme reflects our deep respect for the natural world and acknowledges the growing challenges our environment is facing. From the forests to the rivers, the land and water have always sustained us — physically, spiritually, and culturally. As stewards of this land, we recognize the harmful impacts that pollution, development, and climate change have caused, and we come together in ceremony to raise awareness and show gratitude.

Throughout the years, the Bon Soo Winter Carnival has fostered a spirit of inclusivity and a coming together of the Sault Ste. Marie community. The festival has been a way to show off the Northern Ontario hospitality, as well as provide a fun and entertaining break during the dark winter months. By increasing fun-filled activities for all ages year-over-year, the city has steadily grown the carnival to being the largest winter carnival in Northern Ontario!
