The Vernon Nature Area is a unique area that links three very diverse vegetation zones found within Canada. These designated trails will acquaint you with the transition zone between the Boreal Forest Region, the St. Lawrence-Great Lake Forest Region and the Prairie Grasslands.
Stunning views of the Winnipeg River and Norman Dam can be seen along the series of trails that make up Tunnel Island. Please respect the heritage value of this sacred site, while enjoying the land. This is a dog-friendly off-leash trail.

This famous rock formation stands on a clifftop high atop the shores of Lake Temiskaming. The popular Devil's Rock trail is a well-marked 20-minute hike (one way) offering expansive views of the lake from the top.
Young Lake Lodge is the only fishing and hunting camp on a chain of three good sized lakes. Our cabins are nestled right at the edge of the forest, with a gorgeous lake view.
