You may prefer to stay closer to the camp and enjoy a game of horseshoes or the sandy beach and raft for sunbathing and swimming. In the evening, imagine sitting around a cozy campfire by the lake roasting your favourite campfire snack, telling stories, listening to the loons or just gazing up at the billions of stars (an astronomer’s paradise).
As you cross the bridge to St. Joseph Island, you become part of a serene and tranquil lifestyle reminiscent of days gone by. Heading 25 minutes south across the Island through acres of farmland and lush maple groves you will come upon Whiskey Bay Resort, one of the Island’s “best kept secrets”, located on the south shore of St.Joseph Island on the sandy shores of Lake Huron.
Bowhey's resort in West Nipissing is the perfect destination for a northern vacation. The resort is clean, comfortable and entertaining, offering a range of activities for guests. You can rent a boat or bring your own and spend the day fishing. The resort features both modern and rustic cottages all with beautiful lake frontage. All of the cottages have unimpeded views of the lake and are only steps away from the shore. Lake Manitou is famous for its excellent lake trout, small-mouth bass, jumbo perch, pike, splake and whitefish. It’s a great place to fish, no matter your skill.
