The purpose of the organization is to highlight and make accessible the wealth of the municipality by organizing outdoor activities for all. Aventures Obikoba offers its customers the rental of single or tandem kayaks, nautical equipment, campsites as well as four-season shelters bordering Lake Lebret and Lake Quinze.

This has to be seen to be believed—a massive, three-story red pine log house with a turret on top, seemingly in the middle of nowhere. Built by hand by an eccentric hermit from 1903 to 1904, it stands as a testament to the resilience and imagination of this “frontier” man.

Geological attractions in the park include examples of volcanic dikes from the Early Precambrian period and metamorphic hybrid minerals created from pressures deep within the earth’s crust. You might also spot some “felsic” igneous specimens. Felsic is a hybrid word referring to any light-coloured matter of igneous origin, part feldspar and part silica.
