Located in the Fort William First Nation, Anemki Wajiw, Mount McKay Scenic Lookout towers 1,000 ft. over the city. This is a must on your list of attractions to see when you visit Thunder Bay. At the 500 ft. level, the viewing scope and skyline walkway offer a magnificent vista of the city, Lake Superior and surrounding countryside. There is also a picnic area, snack bar and an easy hiking trail to the top of the mountain. At the top you will have amazing views of Thunder Bay and area.

Eagle Canyon is home to 2 suspension bridges spanning 300 and 600 feet across the canyon hanging 152 feet about the canyon floor.

Duke Hunt Historical Museum

Located on Rosslyn road, the Duke Hunt Historical Museum (formerly known as the Paipoonge Museum) preserves the memory of early settlers, showing the hardships and pleasures they experienced in their new community. Named Duke Hunt after the original curator H.K. Hunt, it reflects his passion to preserve local history and generous collection donations of his own artifacts.  The museum was created in a spare room in the Slate River School and later the present building was erected to house the museum collection.

Founded in 1977 by Gunnard Noyes, Diamond Willow Amethyst Mine still remains as a family owned and operated amethyst mine passed down. Located beside Blue Points Amethyst mine they are just 55 kms east of Thunder Bay off Hwy 11/17 on Road #5 North. The mine is free of charge, and they charge by the bucketful or you can visit their gift shop for a polished piece of amethyst.

Owned and operated by Minnesotan Lyn Swan, Blue Points Amethyst Mine is located 55 kilometres east of Thunder Bay on Hwy 11/17 on Road #5 North. Just 3 kilometres off the main Highway this mine is located beside Diamond Willow Amethyst Mine. During your visit Lyn will be happy to answer any questions you may have about the gemstone. Admission is free and he charges by the bucketful.

During the summer months, they offer an outdoor funland which includes midway rides, train ride, animals, bouncy features and more. During the winter they have an indoor funland that has go-carts, sand area, and more.  They also hold many events including pictures with Santa, and an Easter Egg hunt. They offer visitors a relaxing shopping environment including a gift shop including fudge, and the tulip café.
