Pukaskwa National Park is located 26 km (16 miles) south of Marathon. This National Park is known for its stunning views of Lake Superior, extensive hiking trails, beautiful granite shores, and sandy beaches. The park also offers car campers solitude and privacy at the Hattie Cove Campground. Home to the 60 km (37 mile) Coastal Hiking Trail, take a day hike to the White River Suspension Bridge. Or visit the Anishinaabe Camp to experience local Indigenous culture at the heart of Pukaskwa.

Peninsula Golf Course & Clubhouse - Marathon

The Town of Marathon owns and operates the Golf Course. Peninsula Golf Course is a traditional-style course overlooking Lake Superior. It was built in 1952 by world renowned Canadian golf course architect Stanley Thompson. The contoured and tree-lined fairways are easy to walk and makes this challenging par 72 course appealing to players of all abilities. Although it only plays at 6300 yards from the back tees, the elevated greens make scoring a challenge. The walk ability of the golf course makes it appealing to everyone. We are also a junior friendly facility.

Pelletier’s Gas Bar & Native Art Gallery is located in Lake Helen in Ontario’s Superior Country. The Lake Helen Reserve is located on Highway 11 and is approximately ¼ mile from the junction of Highway 11/17 just past the Nipigon River Bridge. The gas bar offers full service gas and diesel with a convenience store that has homemade baking, sandwiches, ice, propane, and snacks. The Native Art Gallery is showcased throughout the store for purchase including hanging wall art, leather work, moccasins, beaded items, souvenirs, clothing and so much more!
