Ghost Lake Beach is about 15 minutes from Dryden. It's a beautiful beach, with easy access for day-trippers, anglers, and swimmers. There is a boat launch, canoe rental, walking path, a picnic area, and restrooms. Great place to spend the day with the family.

 

In the winter, the area can be used for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.

Oscar's Bay Beach

Oscar Bay Beach Park is located at the end of Frenchman’s Rock Rd off of Hwy 621 near Morson. It is typical of the beaches on the south end of Lake of the Woods - long, beautiful with a long stretch to deep water. The area trees are near the beach, almost as if there were palm trees. The beach certainly feels like you may be in the Caribbean! 

 

Sandy Point Beach

Sandy Point Beach is a unique beach that can only be accessed by boat. It is located in the Bruce Channel on Red Lake, between Cochenour and McKenzie Island. You can watch the people ferry back and forth to the island!

 

It has a long sand bar that allows you to walk way out into the channel. It has two designated fire pits which are perfect for enjoying s'mores or a roasted hot dog. If you are boating in the area, please drive slow and watch for the sandbar.

Cochenour Beach

Cochenor Beach, Red Lake

Cochenour Beach is located in Cochenour (Red Lake) on the channel between McKenzie Island and Cochenour. It features a sandy beach for swimming and a public boat launch.
 

Scotty's Beach

Scotty's Beach, Lake of the Woods

Scotty's Beach is fun all summer! If you are looking for a quiet beach for yourself, this is not it! There are boaters, people with PWC, houseboaters. Scotty's on Lake of the Woods is all about having a good time hanging out with the people on the beach. 

 

It's approximately a 10-15 minutes boat ride to Scotty's Island. 

Umfreville Park

Located at the end of the Umfreville Walking Trail is the Umfreville Historic Park. A secluded rest area off of  Highway 72, visitors can enjoy a sandy beach area and a beautiful view of Abram Lake. While there are a bit more pebbles than on the other beaches, it's great to put in your feet or have a dip on a hot summer's day.

The park is equipped with picnic tables and outhouses for the convenience of those who stop to take in the views. Umfreville Park is a favourite destination for cyclists.

Second Sandy Beach

Second Sandy is a popular beach on Pelican Lake. It's just minutes from the core of Sioux Lookout. The beach is easily accessible off of Highway 72 and there is lots of parking.

There are restrooms, garbage bins, and picnic areas available. The beach sand is soft and there are some shaded areas as well.

Bernier's Beach

Bernier's Beach on Big Vermilion Lake

Located just east of Hudson on Big Vermilion Lake, Bernier’s Beach offers a quiet getaway with restroom facilities and picnic tables. The water is crystal clear and gets deeper gradually so it is great for children.

 

There are no facilities to buy drinks or snacks, so remember to bring some. The road to the beach can be pretty rough and narrow at some points, so drive carefully.

The Tesla Supercharger in Dryden is located in the Red River Co-op Gas Station parking lot. Tesla Supercharging Stations are available 24/7 and have up to 250kW. They are for Telsa vehicles only.
