The Erle Crull Rock and Mineral Collection is located in the Municipality of Red Lake office in Balmertown. This collection features 2,600 specimens of rock and minerals from around the world. The display can be seen Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm. Admission is free.

Stop at the waterfront park for a picturesque pit-stop. The site is a perfect place to stop to have lunch, spend the day, or just take in the scenery.

 

There is a large beach, a playing field, a covered picnic area, and a large restroom facility with a change room and showers. "The Patricia" a freight boat that was built in the 1930s and has been fully restored and is on display in Ear Fall's waterfront park.

Held annually on the second last weekend of September. Celebrations include a family dinner and dance, outdoor market, pony rides, blow-up basketball, carnival games, face painting, community barbeque, live band at the Waterfront, family breakfast, pillow case relay, and pumpkin carving contest.

The Angler Young Angler program takes place in Red Lake, Ontario as well as many other cities in Canada and the U.S.  The Angler & Young Angler Tournaments started in 1998 with the intent of giving youth the opportunity to fish in a competitive-style tournament in a fun environment, surrounded by family and friends.

Check out the Fort Frances Canadian Bass Championship tournament taking place on Rainy Lake. Anglers from all over the region take aim at catching the top prize in this fast-paced, three-day, live release race for the biggest smallmouth bass. The town also celebrates with events in the days leading up to and during the tournament.

Noden Causeway

East of Fort Frances lies the expansive Noden Causeway. It is one of the few Canadian causeways measuring 3.5 miles long. A trip across the Noden Causeway to its lookout point provides travelers with breathtaking views of Rainy Lake and please plan a picnic stop halfway where you can relax by the water's edge.

Rainy Lake Nordic Ski Club

The Rainy Lake Nordic Ski Club trails are located in Northwestern Ontario just outside of Fort Frances, and are open to the public. The trails cover 15 km of groomed skate & classic tracks and 5 km of snowshoe trails. Rental equipment (self-serve) is available on site. All ages are welcome.
