Open year-round! Our 1 and 2 bedroom fully-equipped cabins are surrounded by Crown Land, along the Murdock river, as it enters the top of the French River, making it the perfect location for hunting and fishing. We have a private boat launch on site, providing the only access to the Murdock River. There is a public boat launch across the road, providing access to the French River. Great Escape Cabins is minutes away from the C Trail, offering grocery packages and supplies to snowmobilers. Satellite TV and propane BBQ’s are included with each cabin. Boat and canoe rentals available.

We are a remote fishing lodge offering great walleye, northern pike and lake trout fishing on lakes with no road access. This gives you the chance to do some great private fishing. You never have to fish the same place twice and you'll have the opportunity to see a new lake every day.

This tiny, gourmet cheese shop has become a must-visit destination in the friendly town of Kapuskasing. Stop in for a tour of the cheese-making facilities before tasting a few samples. Stock up on your favourites and peruse the groceries and locally-made goods on offer in the shop. 

For over 50 years, the French River Trading Post has been a destination and tradition for travellers of Highway 69. The Trading Post has expanded from a small gift shop on a gravel road, to a thriving hospitality business complete with dining and world class service. 

Canadian-made moccasins, souvenirs, local First Nations handicraft, and their famous cream and butter fudge made fresh in-house are just a few of the treasures that families from all over have come to expect from the Trading Post.
