Algoma Highlands Wild Blueberry Farm & Winery

Algoma Highlands Wild Blueberry Farm and Winery is a 640-acre family farm located in Wawa, Ontario. It uses an old tree nursery to process and ship wild blueberries and makes a variety of products like wine, jams and sauces. The site is a unique geological one, consisting of 100% sand being old Lake Superior beachfront from times gone by, which is ideal for the encouragement of wild blueberry plants. There is a strawberry U-Pick each harvest season and the farm offers winery tours which include wine-tasting in their gift shop.

Northern Superior Brewing Co. has been part of the Sault Ste. Marie community and Algoma District for over a hundred years. For nearly 10 years, the stories brewery's doors were shut until a group of three local entrepreneurs with a great interest in keeping Sault Ste. Marie's history alive began with the development of the Northern Superior Brewing Company. The new company is dedicated to carefully working to craft the same taste and quality that Northern drinkers are accustomed to.

Opened in 1970, the shop has expanded over the years to encompass more of owner Liisa’s Karkkainen’s Finn heritage. You will find ready to heat Finnish meat pies and Karjalan piirakka (savory rice pudding pie) as well as blueberry, apple and/or rhubarb pies featuring local ingredients.
