Lake Savant is 25 miles long and boasts hundreds of islands. It has over 400 miles of shoreline and is surrounded by a designated wilderness area. There is no public access and there are 18 miles between you and the next camp. Wildewood is one of only two lodges on the lake. There are no private homes, no cottages and no roads – just wilderness. The best word we can use to describe it is remote. When you need to get away, get away to Wildewood and relax.
For over 40 years, NWO has outfitted tourists on their fishing and hunting adventures into the Canadian wilderness. We are located just over the border from International Falls, MN, in Fort Frances, Ontario. At Wilderness North, our passion for the great outdoors began with our love of fishing. Adventuring into the world's largest intact boreal forest is an experience we have always wanted to share with visitors from around the globe. With more than 250,000 lakes and 60,000 miles of river teeming with fish and ready to explore, Northern Ontario is the number one outdoor adventure destination in North America.
In the heart of the woods, Wilderness Lodge is prime location for great fishing, hunting, hiking, canoeing and much more!
In 1951, this parcel of waterfront land was deeded by the Carson and Cross families to the YM-YWCA to be used as a summer camp for youth. ln the intervening years, the Ministry of Government Services became the owner of the property. ln the early 80s, the Handicapped Action Group Inc. (HAGI) had a dream of expanding this camp into a facility that would allow disabled persons and their families to enjoy what many of us take for granted - life at the lake, swimming, fishing, boat rides and campfires.
Our park is clean, quiet and friendly. A place to enjoy the trails, the beach and next-door restaurant, camp & liquor store.
Come share with us the beauty and tranquility of our home. We’re always here to help, smiles are free. Become a part of our Wild Goose Lake Resort heritage. Did we mention we have boats on out lakes? We have boats on Wig, Rogers, Eaton, and Lindsley Lakes. Have you ever fished for walleye, northern pike, perch, splake, blue walleye, brook trout, or bass? Look no further.
