Against the backdrop of Lake Nipissing, 1886 is a casual cottage bistro with black & white photos, hand-crafted butcher block tables and barn board accents. 1886 is a restaurant for winter or summer enthusiasts still dressed in their gear, families with small children, and intimate dinners for couples enjoying each others company. Open for lunch and dinner, there is no dress code or reservations, be cottage casual.

The Trout Forest Music Festival takes place at the Ear Falls Waterfront Park. With Trout Lake Forest as the backdrop, this festival features workshops, a creative arts selection, and great food. The audience camps on historic English River (part of Red Lake's historic Gold Rush Trail) and is treated to late-night jam sessions around campfires. Come and join the fun!

The Red Lake Winter Carnival is held on the Family Weekend each February. Many organizations spend a great deal of time organizing family friendly events. There is fun for all ages with dog sled rides, a pancake breakfast, an ice pond hockey tournament, a dance with live entertainment and so much more. Don't miss it!

Red Lake Fall Classic

The Red Lake Fall Classic is a catch and release walleye tournament which is held the first weekend in September each year, and takes place on the Red Lake Chain of Lakes. There is also a junior tournament for the younger kids to enjoy. Fun for the whole family!

Norseman Festival

The first Norseman Festival was held in 1992. This festival is held annually at the Phillip Thomas Vinet Centennial Park. Events include a Norseman fly-by, float pumping and floatplane loading competitions. Activities for participants include: sightseeing flights, concerts, family activities, family entertainment, softball tournament, fireworks, artisan and vendor market, and more.

Market & Events Pavilion

The Market & Events Pavilion was opened in December 2019. This facility provides an inclusive all-weather venue for multiple events & activites and includes a heated change room and restroom facilities.

Lac Seul Walleye Cup

The Lac Seul Walleye Cup is an annual event in Ear Falls, ON. Held the last weekend of July, it has a cap of just 100 boats. The action is sure to be great!

Kinsmen (Keesic) Beach

Kinsmen Beach is also known as Keesic Beach. The long, beautiful beach on Red Lake features swimming, a picnic area and flush restroom facilities. There is a play structure there as well as a shelter for family picnics. There is also a roped-off swimming area. No lifeguards are present.

 

The Red Lake Anishinaabe Pow Wow is held here annually in June. What a fabulous setting for a Pow Wow!!
