Red Rock Mountain Trail

 Hike this scenic trail to enjoy spectacular panoramic vistas. This is a foot and bike path that runs along the crests and valleys of the Red Rock Mountain. This trail takes advantage of all sides of the mountain, offering nearly a full 360 degree view of the region and a variety of the area's stunning geological features. This trail provides stellar views of a variety of stunning features of this portion of Lake Superior and a great chance to sit back, relax and enjoy from any of the three platform lookouts.

Casque Isles Trail & Pictographs

The Casque Isles Trail is an adventurer’s dream come true, and then some—one of the top 10 best hikes in Ontario! This is the must-hike trail in Northwestern Ontario. The trail weaves 53 km (33 miles) along the north shore of Lake Superior, highlighting some of the most stunning vistas of Lake Superior, and linking the communities of Terrace Bay, Schreiber and Rossport together. You’ll be swept away as you hike from one beautiful bay to the next.

Enjoy nature at its best, challenging hills and a beautiful lookout with a tremendous view of the valley and town. Groomed trails with marked signage are provided by volunteers and welcoming landowners, the Thessalon Ski Trail is a picturesque adventure. The trails are equally accepting of beginners and moderate skiers with unique terrain and natural beauty. Outhouse facilities are available.

 In December 2021 the Stewart Highlands Trails opened for year-round use to hike, bike, snowshoe, and cross-country ski.

Kickstart your day with a delicious cup of coffee inside the dome, and then hit the road for a morning drive to Wikwemikong Island. Trust me, you won't want to miss the enchanting Bebamikawe Memorial Trail—it's like stepping into a real-life fairy tale.

You've got to check out this hike! It's seriously amazing with breathtaking spots that let you explore some hidden gems along the Niagara Escarpment. It's a couple of hours for the full loop, so you can take your time and enjoy the whole experience. Oh, and make sure to bring sunscreen and water bottles so you stay protected and hydrated.

Catfish Lakefront Cabins

Located along the Trans Canada Highway, minutes Northwest of the bustling community of Wawa, Ontario, you will find Catfish Lakefront Cabins.  The cabins and grounds sit lakefront on its namesake, Catfish Lake.  Despite the ease of access, the property provides quiet comfort and privacy with no neighbors nearby.  Relatively calm, the lake is 2 miles long and is home to Walleye (pickeral), Northern Pike, and Lake Trout.

This municipal campground and trail network is located in Terrace but when you are exploring the trails, you'll feel like you are in the middle of the forest. These easy walking trails wind through towering trees, many of which feature carved faces and animals in the thick bark of the cottonwoods.

Located at the first viewpoint on the popular Terrace Mountain recreational trail, this art installation includes six metal wolves overlooking the spectacular Skeena River. This light hike up to see the wolves takes about 15 minutes and it’s worth every second of the approach. Don’t forget to pack your camera – photos of the wolves never disappoint, no matter the weather.
