In 1951, this parcel of waterfront land was deeded by the Carson and Cross families to the YM-YWCA to be used as a summer camp for youth. ln the intervening years, the Ministry of Government Services became the owner of the property. ln the early 80s, the Handicapped Action Group Inc. (HAGI) had a dream of expanding this camp into a facility that would allow disabled persons and their families to enjoy what many of us take for granted - life at the lake, swimming, fishing, boat rides and campfires.
Our park is clean, quiet and friendly. A place to enjoy the trails, the beach and next-door restaurant, camp & liquor store.
Stay in a historic cabin once occupied by gold miners and Group of Seven artists, fish, pick blueberries, or enjoy a scenic sunset cruise. While at Widgawa, you can venture out into the back-country and see the breathtaking scenery of the white La Cloche mountains and the crystal clear lakes of Killarney Provincial Park.You can paddle deep blue waters, between white quartzite hills, explore enchanting islands, climb pink granite ridges with stunning views and ancient pines, and hike through old growth forest. A dream for anyone looking to get away from it all!

10 modern, fully-furnished private log cabins that are set up for your extended stay. Whitefish Lake offers both and hunting and great fishing which includes: Walleye, Northern Pike, Whitefish, Smallmouth Bass, Perch and Lake Trout.
If you are looking for a true wilderness adventure, consider one of the available Outpost Cabins. These cabins are located on Manitowik Lake and Shikwamkwa Lake and are only accessible by boat. For an even more exclusive adventure, try the Loon Lake Fly-in camp!
